DEMOGRAPHIC PROCESSES IN ST. PETER AND PAUL CHURCH OF KAMBARKA FACTORY IN 19TH CENTURY

Abstract

The article analyzes some demographic processes in the parish of St. Peter and Paul Church of Kambarka factory in the end of the 19th century. Basing on the parish registers the ratio of births and deaths, age and sex mortality rates, seasonality of births, deaths and marriages, social status intermarrying, the proportion of re-marriages and an overall demographic dynamics of factory population were examined. The main attention is paid to peasants of the factory. Variations in the levels of fertility and mortality, prevalence of male and infant mortality, presence of a positive demographic balance and the traditional type of population reproduction are observed.
