Abstract

The review of history studying of inexpressible in different sciences and various research paradigms and definition of actual prospects of further research of the called value are represented in the article. Inexpressible draws attention of philosophers, art critics, semiologists, literary critics, linguists. It is shown that inexpressible is mostly developed in literary criticism, especially at the characteristic of the romanticism in literature and the phenomena that are crossed with romanticism. In literature, the inexpressible is most extensively presented in poetry. Among the literary directions - in romanticism, modernism, symbolism, postmodernism. In linguistics, this value is studied in semasiology, cognitive linguistics, cultural linguistics, ethnocultural aspect. The value of inexpressible is actively studied in connection with research of the phenomenon of significant silence. In the article, the characteristic of semantics of inexpressible as independent functional and semantic category is given; it is shown that now the hierarchical nature of the plan of expression of this category is approved, its transference means are defined. The greatest presentation was received by pronouns as a mean of transmission of inexpressible. The review of topical issues of semantics of inexpressible studies showed that the matter is at a material accumulation stage in linguistics.
