Abstract

In the article, the historical conditions, logico-gnoseological content, structure and prognostic possibilities of the notion of tolerance are studied. Tolerance is treated as regard, acceptance, correct understanding of multiple cultures of the world, forms of self-expression and means of expressing human individuality. In the philosophical sense, tolerance is a notion meaning giving up dogmatism and absolutization of the truth. The world is impossible without tolerance, and justice, development and democracy are impossible without the world. We suggest binding of the notion of tolerance with the concept of “measure”.
