In the article, the categories of “understanding”, “safety”, “psychological safety of the family” that are used in the modern scientific literature are considered. The results of research, which purpose is to find out the understanding by modern youth of such concepts as the “psychological safety of the family”, “threat of family life” are given. One of the conditions for the formation of an adequate understanding of the psychological safety of the family is the creation of an educational project “School of family art” is highlighted. Its purpose is to prepare today's youth for marriage, to inform the modern youth about the possible threats concerning the family life and also to form a correct understanding of the psychological safety of the family life.
